“It’s The Snow”

Maybe it’s the inflection
of the voice,
or the movement
of the eyes
or the hands
or his mannerisms,
in the way
he carries himself,
when he speaks,
when he crosses
the room,
or simply stands,
or the way
he puts together
a phrase
that catches you
off guard
that you weren’t
expecting because it
rings like a bell
in your ears
that you have to ask
“did he say it before?”
somewhere from the past,
or maybe… it’s just
how he looks
when he sees you.
